The mist it clears on distant shore.
A life was led of that I’m sure.
Your hand so soft was held in mine
The path we walked was so divine.

With longing and love it guided my way
No sortie or foe could bar the way
A warrior’s heart so brave and true
For king and country I paid my due.

Sure wounds and cuts I took in stride
With healing hands, you were at my side
Knew I was blessed in having you
Two hearts in one, we knew it true.

Yes, a life we led so strong in love
We fit together like a glove
Love binds, it holds, it never ends
A love like ours only begins.

So when my time was over there
My words to you were true I swear.
