A VEXIN' HEXIN'

When vexed by a hex
That leaves ye a wreck
Wha 'tis one to do
With a mood so dark hue?
Like a heavy rain cloud
Hangin' straight overhead
Yer head's swathed in cotton
Yer feet weigh like lead

Who places these hexes
Upon us, poor we!
Invisible burdens
We feel but can't see
A scorned past lover?
An enemy once friend?
Oh! What counterspell
Will bring it to an end?

A vexin', this hexin'
A horrible curse
We do not deserve it
And here is what's worse
The sender, no doubt
Is a-laughin' with glee
Since there's no return address
To R.S.V.P.

So grinnin' and bearin'
Is all we can do
When bein' vexed by a hex
Makes us teary-eyed and blue
The moral of this story
Is when Fate's wheel turns
Whoever the heck is hexin'
Feckin' fingers will get burned!!
