Irish Sports News Discussion:     Hurling

Noted is the fact that hurling is becoming so popular that Irish ash trees are being poached from farms and forest lands in great quantity. Only the lowest part of the trunk wood is used and the rest of the tree is simply left where cut down. Ugh.

In the States, kids now use mostly aluminum baseball bats, as do colleges, to keep the cost down, and ice hockey sticks for the pros have long ago gone to carbon/graphite type sticks. They have lost a season right now, but not because of this.

Geeze, ash trees grow like weeds here. Come and get em.
