Hundreds of pictures parade
Like Life flashing before my eyes
Seven months worth of memories
Your face in front of me
Thoughts of a happier time
For weeks, I have watched these scenes
The snow the day after Christmas
Battleship looming large on the Delaware
A bit of craic on New Year's Eve
Mummers in the street
Dublin on a sunny St. Patrick's Day
The fountain at St. Stephen's

And I am glad for them...

But 'tis the things of which I have no pictures
That my heart breaks for
Your face as you sleep
The way you look quietly reading
Your lazy smile as you tell a joke
The fire in your eyes when you sense an injustice
How tender and patient you treat a small child
Your little boy merriment and sense of fun
The look of love you have for your music
Or cheeks flushed with excitement fresh from the dance

Images I cannot replace
Steps I can never retrace
Pictures I shall never find
Except on the screensaver of my mind
