Corkman wins Cork City Marathon

Alan O'Shea from the Bantry Athletic Club in county Cork has won the Cork City marathon in a time of 2.27:36. The Cork City women's marathon was won by Tracy Guilfoyle from Killnaboy in Clare in a time of 3:01:53.a time of 2:27:36.
This was the first marathon to be held in Cork City since 1986. The Cork city marathon started at 9am this morning, and included a wheelchair category and a team relay event.
Also today the Dublin Women's Mini-Marathon took place, the event which is the largest of its kind in the world attracted a reported 40,000 athletes.
This year's winner is Marie Davenport. She completed the 10km run in 33 minutes and 12 seconds. Rosemary Ryan from Limerick came in second with a time of 34:38.
