I am confident that the pint I order ...a Guinness extra cold draught .....rewards the best possible pint of Guinness.

A majority of my more senior friends and relations ...confidently inform me otherwise ....insisting that the best ever pint ...was to be had from ...the old method of serving Guinness. In the days before the modern pressurised beer pumps ....Guinness was served from the keg ...into jugs to settle ...then on to the customers glass ....allowed to settle ....refills and settling occurring several times before ....cut clean with a knife.
Until this morning ....I could only imagine the old style Guinness serving process.
I can not imagine that this produced a better tasting pint ...but I can imagine ...the greater appreciation and romantic attachment ...to a much more interesting process.
