The British state must not like the information in the Movie Hunger, a movie about the Irish hunger strikers where London director Steve McQueen reveals a very different side to the story than that told by Thatchers regime.

The movie Hunger reveals the extremes of British state violence, the brutality and torture inflicted on Irish prisoners of war. The reality of British state terror, violence that forced Irish men and women to resist as best they could.

Award nominations for Hunger actors. Hunger by debut director Steve McQueen earned five nominations for the 2009 London Critics Circle Film Awards. Ireland's Liam Cunningham has been nominated for Hunger.
