Spring comes to both sides of the Atlantic
In its own time and speed
Indeed it threatened to stay away this year
Leaving Winter holding us hostage

'Tis cold yet here
For the want of a fire
A Bailey's
And you

Jealous me...
The flowers of Dublin up for weeks
The trees burstin' with green
The air warm as fresh milk
Sky heavy with promised rain

But here I've been cold
Wantin' for a fire
A Bailey's
And you

Until today
When overhead
Were the sounds of the geese coming back
And I felt akin to they who fly
Back and forth in distant but familiar skies
Seeking eternal spring

And for just a brief few moments today
The air was warm as fresh milk

I know Spring shall come
In the meantime,
I've the want of
A fire
A Bailey's
And you
