Irish Poetry Writers Forum Discussion:     The flowers of the bog .
Was a summers day when you and me
ventured from the work in hand
to show me treasures you said were grand
we trampled over rough stones and heather

The sun was beating down on us
you said wait and see for your delight
colours like the dawn of light
for nestled in the shade of stones

Jewels of Ireland names untold
seen the colours brave and true
turned and said my God its true
hidden treasurs yet uncovered

ancient with no axe to grind
waiting for who care to find
promised id show no other
see how long to discover

hope its many years from now
for busses cars and people gather
spoil the essence those flowers gather
hidden deeply in the stones
Irelands jewels silent tones .
