The Awakemare

Ye were so close when I woke before
I wanted ye and reached out
Just to touch yer cheek for a moment
It has been too long
But ye were gone

The large gaping wound in my chest
The one that refuses to heal
The pain catches my breath every time I think of ye
'Tis not so bad, if I sleep the night away
But waking in the middle leaves me sleepless and confused

Lovin' anyone like this...
A blessing or a curse?
Or worse?

Ye haunt me
A living ghost

I cannot put ye to rest
I cannot turn away
I cannot stop loving ye

God made this happen
What was his plan?

I shall try to sleep again...

Next time I reach for ye
All that went before
Shall be a bad scare
A nightmare
And ye will be there

I must believe
Even if I myself deceive

The clock ticks
Seven thirty there, two thirty here

I shall try to sleep again
For worse than any nightmare...
