The Burren

Location: Boston

The other night, I was at a local Boston pub called The Burren, and I was staring at the photos on the wall -- all of different angles of The Burren in Co. Clare. I love looking at the pictures and reading up on the area, especially the caves.

Has anyone been there? Were they really not 'discovered' until the 1940s?

I spent this beautiful, sunny afternoon on the beach today...there was a gentleman building stone statues below the sea wall. They were simple structures, but I was fascinated. They had such personality! Do you think the lasting nature of stones is what makes them such a part of history? The ocean can come up and wear them down until their pebbles or they can be stacked in walls along gardens and fields...and be there forever.
