If I could take my heart and cut it out
To rid myself of this self doubt
The agony, the struggle, the pain
Of never seein' ye again

For when ye were on distant shores
T'was easier to close those doors
For then I could pretend ye banished
To some distant place where they all speak Spanish

But now yer presence draws me near
Though I put both fingers in both ears
And hum so loud that I feel the drone
To stop myself from pickin' up that phone
