Rippling waters
Reflections of Kings past
On the shores of Lake Ennell

Bold deceit, treachery
Ancient Kings
The Ard Ri

Echos of the past...
Just behind the edge of the present

Hear the cries of the maven
Falcons overhead
Birds of prey
Are not the only hunters...

Crannogs on an island midwater
Windswept, yet protected from view
Protection from invaders
Hungry for the crown

Hear the cries of treachery
Amidst the teaming life
On Lake Ennel's shore

Birthplace of Dublin's Kings
All three led astray
By but one woman
With one eye on the throne
And her arm around her son

Oh, cruel are the echos of treachery
All vie for remembrance
As the one ruler of all

But none of the three
Had the foresight of she
Oh she was so fair
Ireland's keeper of the heir...
