Sceala Irish Craic Forum Discussion:     Tourists to Ireland fall following British Queen's visit

It appears that RTE, through the instruction of most Irish Politicians, lied to the population of Ireland.

The all expenses paid tourist visit of the British billionaire Queen, paid for by the Irish nation was supposed to be a no brainer. British tourists would follow their English Queen to Ireland.

Wrong.
2012 saw a rise in the number of tourists coming here from mainland Europe and North America but a fall in those visiting from Britain.
New figures, released by the Irish Tourist Industry Confederation also show that those holidaying at home are taking shorter, cheaper trips.
Close to 6.5 million people travelled to Ireland from overseas in 2012, which is around the same figure as 2011.

The Irish Tourist Industry Confederation says it was a year of "mixed fortunes", with a 2% growth from mainland Europe and North America off-set by 100,000 fewer visitors from Britain.
Dublin, it says, had a good year but other parts of the country saw fewer tourists.

The numbers of British Tourists to Ireland are actually down.
Clearly the average British person does not holiday where ever the billionaire British Queen goes. Amazing that anyone fell for the shallow argument in the first place. How could we have imagined that the average Cockney, also had a 300 bedroom mansion, as their main residence.

The reality was the British were not impressed by British Queen's visit to Ireland at all. Most could not care less and have forgotten it ever happened.
The claim was just another state controlled lie. A lie designed to silence the many Irish who protested the visit of the woman who decorated the murderers of Irish people on Bloody sunday and other mass murders and murders by the British army.

Visitor numbers from grate britain fall between April and June - CSO
There was a decrease in the number of visitors from grate britain to Ireland between April and June 2012 despite an overall increase in visitor numbers according to the CSO.
Visitors from North America increased by 0.6% to 305,700

This is when the figures are compared with the same period last year.
The number of trips by people from grate britain fell by 3.4% to 735,200. However, there was a overall increase of 0.7% where 1,817,300 visitors came to the country.

Visitors from North America increased by 0.6% to 305,700 and trips made from the rest of europe went up by 3.8% to 672,400.

From the rest of the world, there was an increase of 11.9% to 104,000 trips made.

During this timeframe, less people from Ireland made overseas trips with a decrease of 1.5% to 1,727,500.

When putting together the total number of trips (Irish residents' trips overseas plus trips to Ireland), there was a decrease by 0.4% to 3,544,700.

This differs from the previous year where there was an increase of 10.7% from the same time in 2010.

The CSO database contains information on every direct flight in an dout of the nine Irish airports on a monthly basis.

They claim .7% increase overall of British visitors.
How many are immigrants signing on welfare? I was reading on another forum that the British are the most likely immigrant to be in receipt of Irish welfare.
How many are others returning via London from work abroad.

Ireland tourist numbers BritainIn the context of our own young people, our most brightest being forced to emigrate in their thousands each week.
In the context of our very real need for Garda to be on our streets 365 days of the year, to protect and serve us, and not resourced out of existence for the benefit of securing two foreign celebrities on the most expensive short break ever imagined.
If we have to suffer just to please some celebrities seeking imagined kudos.
Can we not just hire this Lady for a few days. Save the millions for our own Irish children's futures.
Tourists to Ireland fall
She looks even friendlier, every bit as Lady like, on first appearance she suggests more character.
In context - considering the distance any regular Irish person is going to be allowed to get near the real Queen of England.
What difference will it really make?
Irish visitors

British tourists numbers to Ireland are down.
The values presented for the visit of the British Queens visit was a lie.
